Four days left

to try to remember exactly why I am going to try to finish my undergraduate degree at my age. Well, I'm 48 now and will certainly be in my 50's when I receive my degree. At this point I can hope it is my early 50's...

1. I graduated high school at 16 and should have gone right away, but I was just too young
2. I went back to college at 32 and received my AA-I thought I would go back as soon as my son slept through the night
3. 4 years went by until he slept through the night and by then my husband was in the Master's program-2 of us can't be in school at the same time (I thought)
4. Too much time-I'm just too old.
5. I'll still be old, but without a degree.
6. I'm too scared to go to the university.
7. I want that damn degree no matter what!

Aha! So that's why I'm going back to school even at my advanced age. I guess I'll be a junior for a while, but that's ok. At the end of it I will have my degree. Better late than never for me.

Exactly, you'll have your degree and times are different now. We old folks are crawling all over the universities and community colleges. You are right; you can be old without a degree or old with a degree. Either way, time won't stand still and we are fortunate enough to have the luxury to decide we want to go to school. There are many more out there still dreaming and regretting that they can't.

I know you will do fabulous, I have no doubt at all. None, nada, zilch!
