5 days of freedom left

to choose what I want to read. Starting Monday, the next 16 weeks will be dedicated to working on my grammar, learning different myths and reading 7 novels for ethnic American literature. Oh, yes and a reader specially designed for our class. I have a few more novels at my bedside that I'll be burning through in these last few days.
I keep reading the syllabus for my english 169 class-it will be a challenge for sure, but hopefully I will enjoy those 7 novels. And my son is very excited about my mythology class-he had Greek and Roman mythology last semester of 6th grade-he thinks I'm cool. And since he's 12, my coolness factor is fleeting...I'm just not too cool anymore. But that's cool because he's growing up and just about anything I do is a bit embarassing, but hey I'm sure that's how I felt too.
We just sorted out our school supplies-he's chose the green binder and I chose the black one. We divvied up the pens, pencils, binder paper...I never thought I'd be doing this with my now 7th grader but it's sort of fun. And maybe, just maybe I am looking forward to the first day of school...

I LOVE school supplies! I get all giddy thinking about them. Need to do that myself, but I've got 4 more weeks!
